The group comprises secondary, further and higher education, apprenticeships, and business training, with facilities spread across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, and Surrey. Their schools, colleges, and work-based programs offer flexible learning opportunities where possible, enabling students to study locally or online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" wp-block-paragraph\">In 2020, Activate Learning was looking to explore how to utilise the latest technology to improve the performance of their network, their security, and help them achieve their strategic goals over the next five years and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" spacing-after--10 wp-block-paragraph\">Following a series of workshops and an extensive exploration of ideas with Conscia, Activate Learning partnered with Conscia to design, implement, and support a network that has reimagined the learning environment for their current and future students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group  spacing-before--5 spacing-after--10 background-graphics--none has-electric-blue-pale-background-color has-background is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p class=\" wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cConscia has been working as a trusted Cisco advisor to Activate Learning for the past four years. Activate Learning\u2019s mission is to transform lives through learning and to provide their students with the very best experience \u2013 Conscia has been an important part of this process, helping design and implement solutions to help achieve this goal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" spacing-after--5 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James Carter, Group IT Systems and Infrastructure Manager, Activate Learning<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading  wp-block-paragraph spacing-before--5\" id=\"h-the-challenge\">The challenge<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Aging Wi-Fi infrastructure at Activate Learning\u2019s Bracknell and Guildford sites was limiting the group\u2019s ability to provide the excellent level of service and user experience they were striving for.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The use of various technologies was not consistent across sites. Activate Learning wanted to streamline their network solution to improve operational efficiency and ensure a consistently high standard of service throughout their facilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To drive towards their strategic goals of reimagining and empowering learning, Activate Learning needed a network design that would go beyond simple wireless connectivity, with the capability to support emerging and enhanced education services and technologies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading  wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"h-outcomes\">Outcomes<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Conscia team worked closely with Activate Learning to provide immediate improvements to network performance from day one of the contract. Ensuring consistent deployment of technologies across sites has in turn improved network reliability, security, and ease of management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deploying Cisco DNA Center has provided valuable LAN and WLAN data for the Activate Learning team. These detailed insights have reduced network downtime and the time taken to resolve any issues, enabling IT staff to focus on delivering a consistently high-level service and implementing future innovation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enhanced reporting and follow-up tools have improved the open day attendance and experience, with the ability to send contextual reminders to prospective students and parents before, during, and after visits.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use of predictive analytics has improved capacity planning, ensuring that students and staff can find the right space for their needs.
