Sourcing better data to support smarter decisions
To enable smarter decisions and drive outcomes, data is collected either from network infrastructure with built-in sensors, such as video endpoints and access points, or from dedicated sensors deployed alongside the existing network.

Existing infrastructure
Where suitable infrastructure with built-in sensors is already in place, Conscia will not need to deploy any additional hardware and will instead collect the data from these devices and integrate it into the Workplace Intelligence service. Our platform can collect data from most vendors, although compatibility should be confirmed with our specialist team during the sales process.
Conscia sensors
Where suitable infrastructure is not already in place, Conscia can provide sensors as part of the service, with the rental cost included within the annual contract. The sensors supplied are from Milesight and have been selected to support the key decisions and desired outcomes enabled by the Workplace Intelligence service.
These sensors use LoRaWAN technology, a low-power, long-range wireless network designed for IoT and smart building deployments. Because sensors communicate over a dedicated LoRaWAN network, there is no need to connect them to the client’s corporate network. This simplifies deployment, reduces dependency on existing network services, and enables rapid installation across a wide range of environments. Installation is carried out by Conscia, with on-site access and any agreed preparatory work supported by the client.
Where required, Conscia will also provide and configure the necessary LoRaWAN gateways to enable secure and reliable communication between the sensors and the Workplace Intelligence platform.
| Sensor | Outcome it enables | Key information |
|---|---|---|
| VS121 | Occupancy | High quality occupancy sensor for rooms, spaces, and desks |
| VS133 | Occupancy | High accuracy people counting and movement analytics, typically deployed in entrances, corridors, and retail spaces |
| AM103L | Indoor air quality | Temperature, humidity, CO₂ |
| AM319 | Indoor air quality | Temperature, humidity, CO₂, PM2.5, PM10, TVOC, barometric pressure, light level, motion |
| CT101 | Energy consumption | Single-circuit energy monitoring. Clamp-on, non invasive install |
| CT303 | Energy consumption | Three-channel current monitoring. Clamp-on, non invasive install |
New network infrastructure
The Workplace Intelligence service from Conscia is intentionally designed to operate alongside a client’s existing network infrastructure. This approach avoids unnecessary complexity and ensures organisations can benefit from the service without needing to make significant changes to their current environment.
However, in some scenarios it may be beneficial to take a broader view of the underlying network infrastructure to support longer-term strategic outcomes. For example, where video endpoints are required within spaces in scope, it may be advantageous to deploy endpoints with built-in sensors to enhance data collection capabilities.
Similarly, where wireless infrastructure is being refreshed, consideration should be given to access point density to support location-based services and improve coverage accuracy. Where switching infrastructure is being upgraded, areas such as network segmentation and PoE capability may also warrant review.
While these considerations sit outside the core Workplace Intelligence service, Conscia can provide consultancy, design, and strategic guidance where appropriate to help ensure the wider infrastructure supports both current and future workplace objectives.
