As Engineering Lead for Conscia’s Cyber Defense Team, Andrew Michal is responsible for driving the strategy, development and continuous evolution of the technologies and capabilities that enable effective cyber defence operations. He leads initiatives across AI, detection engineering, security automation and automated response, ensuring that threat intelligence, customer context and vulnerability data are seamlessly integrated into security operations.
With a background spanning security engineering, architecture and governance, Andrew brings a broad perspective to cybersecurity. Before joining Conscia, he advised organisations on security strategy and architecture, helping align security capabilities with business objectives. Earlier in his career, he served as a lecturer at Business Academy Aarhus, where he played a key role in establishing the Professional Bachelor’s degree programme in IT Security. Through his teaching and mentorship, he helped educate and develop a significant number of cybersecurity professionals who today contribute across Denmark’s IT and security industry.
Andrew’s focus is on providing defenders with the best possible platform for identifying, understanding and responding to threats. Through the combination of automation, analytics and engineering excellence, he helps deliver actionable insights that enable immediate response to active attacks while creating valuable intelligence that supports future tactical and strategic decision-making. Combining strategic thinking with hands-on technical expertise, he helps organisations strengthen their resilience through better visibility, automation and intelligence-driven security operations.
