In an ongoing partnership Conscia sets out to deliver IT infrastructure as a service to the Norwegian based global technology powerhouse Cegal, fueling digital transformation in the energy sector.
Conscia and Cegal have had a close and evolving customer and supplier relationship during the last six years, collaborating on turning complex IT into success stories of digital transformation for Cegal’s customers. The two parties now make a significant move into a deeper partnership, with Conscia being trusted to deliver IT infrastructure as a service and gradually acting as a data center for Cegal.
Cegal delivers industrial software, consulting and managed services, and cloud operations to customers in the energy sector worldwide. As part of their business model Cegal focuses on being highly agile and able to develop and scale their activities to keep the customers in front of the rapid change in the energy market and swift transformations of the energy and oil and gas companies.
“We looked for a partner that could contribute to Cegal’s continued evolvement as an asset-light company and being able to scale up the IT infrastructure where and when we need it to serve our customers both locally and globally. We invited several IT companies with global delivery capacity, and Conscia won the tender,” says Karl-Henning Rørstad, Director of Operation, Cegal.
Infrastructure as a service
Conscia delivers cybersecurity, networking and hybrid cloud infrastructure which are critical to enable digitalization in any business sector. The partnership with Cegal on delivering infrastructure as a service focuses first on computing, networking, storage, servers and virtualization. It is built as a unified effort with tech experts from across Conscia Group.
“We are building a custom made, high-performing and secure infrastructure, and a digital highway to gradually move their computing capacity to our platform. The first elements in focus are virtual machines and storage solutions among others. Secondly, we will gradually expand the partnership together and partner with Cegal for customer specific deliverables,” says Christian Bjelland, Regional Manager, Conscia Norway.

Reduced environmental impact
Cegal’s choice of Conscia as a trusted partner to deliver IT infrastructure as a service was also based on quality requirements, where Conscia had a strong performance in services and solutions, service management, cybersecurity and ESG as well as a solid cultural fit.
Cegal is at the midst of the transformation of the energy sector and the move towards renewables, that is progressing at a high speed with technology and diversity as important drivers. This movement also implies favoring solutions with reduced environmental impact such as lower energy consumption, higher power usage effectiveness, higher use of green energy and lower carbon footprint.
The parties have agreed not to disclose financial details of the partnership agreement.
