Conscia acquires Kanari Group, a leading provider of observability solutions for complex IT environments in the Nordic markets

In a strategic move to bolster activities within observability, Conscia acquires the Nordic market leader Kanari Group (‘Kanari’), adding a new area of expertise and also strengthening Conscia’s services and solutions within cybersecurity.

Observability allows enterprises to monitor and understand the performance of their IT systems and applications from end-to-end. Kanari is specialized in helping businesses implement observability solutions that go beyond traditional monitoring by providing real-time insights into digital ecosystems. Through a proactive approach, Kanari empowers organizations to identify and resolve issues before they impact users. Their observability services help improve operational efficiency, meet compliance requirements, and enhance digital experiences by aligning data with business goals.

Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Oslo, Norway, Kanari Group is a market leader across Scandinavia and Finland. With an annual revenue of EUR 19 million (2023), Kanari focuses exclusively on observability, helping businesses harness the full potential of technology by focusing on the people who use it. With a team of business specialists and IT experts, Kanari delivers tailored technology solutions that create tangible value.

By integrating Kanari’s observability expertise, Conscia can offer a more resilient IT infrastructure and proactively address the cybersecurity challenges that large public organizations and private enterprises face.

“I am excited to welcome customers and employees from Kanari to Conscia. We add a new technology domain to Conscia enhancing our relevance to our customers. Particularly through improved data insights from observability as well as in the broader development of our services in cybersecurity. This is another step in Conscia’s strategy to become the leading cybersecurity and managed services partner in Europe,” says Group CEO Erik Bertman, Conscia.

Kanari will continue as a separate entity and brand as both companies will work together to find new ways to offer more value to customers and grow in the observability market. Conscias customers will get better cybersecurity solutions and managed services, while Kanari’s customers will have access to more networking and hybrid cloud solutions.

“Kanari has built unique competencies with great success, and the time is right to accelerate our development with the right owner. Conscia brings exciting opportunities, expert knowledge, customer focus and a market reach that will take us far,” says CEO Michael Breen, Kanari Group.

The acquisition of Kanari follows Conscia acquiring Swedish Splunk-specialist Siemify earlier this spring and achieving Splunk Elite Partner status.

“We want to be the first choice for organizations with mission-critical infrastructure to secure and run their networking and cybersecurity. The potential of combining our focus on cybersecurity with Kanari’s observability will give us a unique platform in the market,” says CEO Tor Lambrecht, Conscia Norway.

Kanari Group is Conscia’s 19th acquisition in seven European geographical markets. The parties have agreed not to disclose financial details of the transaction. Completion of the transaction is subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions.
