In the physical server room, the firewall was essentially the guard, granting access to the right individuals and shutting the door on everyone else. You built a guest list for the party, which the firewall followed, and fortunately, this was a manageable task.
This was mainly because most systems and users were already within the company’s domain and network—and because the number of users was relatively small.
But that is no longer the case. In today’s distributed, hybrid infrastructure, traditional monolithic systems are often replaced by many services, applications, and microservices that may reside on-premise and in the cloud. Users, too, are often located anywhere but the office.
This makes managing the classic firewall complex and extremely time-consuming, with a high risk of mistakes – such as forgetting to revoke rights and privileges when users or systems no longer need them.
On the following pages, you can read about Cisco’s Hypershield technology, which we have high expectations for at Conscia. Hypershield represents a new approach to cybersecurity that is better suited to meet the challenges of a dynamic IT infrastructure. It does so by integrating technologies like eBPF, DPUs, and AI to provide comprehensive protection and segmentation across networks and workloads.
This whitepaper offers an overview of the key elements of Cisco Hypershield and insight into how the platform can enhance IT security within your organization.
